Our real world, project delivery experience enables us to provide practical and relevant training content that equips staff with the core knowledge, skills and confidence to build their practice.

Sparc Workforce Training
One day course - face to face or online
Based on our Sparc Project, which delivers rights based RSE work for adults with learning disabilities so they become more confident about dating and relationships.
This staff training day is based on our experience in delivering this work, and what the learning disability and/or autistic communities have told us about how they would prefer to be supported.
This one day course focuses on exploring and removing barriers faced by adults with learning disabilities and autism in forming and maintaining positive friendships and romantic relationships. Become confident in supporting the rights and opportunities for adults with learning disabilities in this area.
During the course of the day participants will:
■ Explore the benefits of healthy and fulfilling friendships, relationships and sex
■ Identify barriers to the above
■ Consider law and legislation outlining individuals rights to relationships and private life
■ Explore best practice in facilitating and supporting relationships and friendships
■ Have the opportunity to create a bespoke action plan to share information and support colleagues within their workplace setting

Talking to young people about relationships and sex
One day course - face to face or online
Knowing how to communicate with children and young people about relationships and sex can be challenging. This course is designed to give a clear roadmap to professionals, with the opportunity to practice skills and increase confidence.
Aim: To build the confidence of staff when talking to young people about relationships, sexual health, sexuality and sex.

Relationships and sex education delivery training
Two day - face to face or online
This two day course is designed to give a solid foundation of knowledge, skills and confidence, so staff can design and deliver their own effective RSE sessions.
Aim: To increase participants' awareness, confidence and skills to work more effectively with issues concerning relationships, sexual health and young people.
Learning outcomes include:
● Explore the RSE needs of the young people we work with
● Gain an understanding of the law relating to young people and sexual health and how this affects confidentiality and safeguarding
● Gain a basic understanding of key sexual health issues, including condoms, contraception and sexually transmitted infections
● Communicate effectively about sexual health and related issues with young people
● Gain knowledge of relevant resources to support RSE
● Design and plan RSE sessions

Period Proud
Half day - face to face or online
A 3 hour staff training session designed to increase knowledge and confidence when communicating about periods and period products.
Learning outcomes include:
● Update knowledge about periods and the menstrual cycle
● Practice inclusive language when talking about periods
● Explore a range of reusable and disposable period products
● Increase confidence in communicating about periods and period products

Masturbation, Autism and Learning Disabilities
One day course - face to face or online
We receive numerous requests for support and guidance on this issue. We have developed this unique and practical training course for professionals.
This is the original course of its kind and was designed by Mel Gadd, author of Masturbation, Autism and Learning Disabilities.
This course is to support practitioners, working with people with learning disabilities, to enable clients to masturbate safely and effectively if they so choose.
Learning outcomes include:
• Legal information and good practice responses surrounding masturbation
• Exploring a range of attitudes and values
• Identifying ways in which we can support our client’s right to masturbate
• Sourcing, using and adapting appropriate resources
